Sojitz Opens Tashkent Liaison Office

Sojitz Corporation (“Sojitz”) has established a liaison office in Tashkent, the capital city of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Until 2003, Sojitz’s predecessor company Nissho Iwai Corporation operated a liaison office in Tashkent, the Uzbek capital city located at the heart of the Central Asia region.

Sojitz is currently expanding business activities in Uzbekistan, including through its 2022 signing of a power purchase agreement for the Syrdarya II IPP project, a complex that will be one of the largest power generation facilities in Uzbekistan upon completion. Through the establishment of the Tashkent Liaison Office, Sojitz aims to both strengthen existing business as well as develop new business while striving to address regional needs across Central Asia and achieve new value creation.
