The Order of Dustlik is Uzbekistan’s distinguished national award conferred on individuals who have made significant contributions to Uzbekistan’s social and economic development, and advancement of bilateral cooperation and economic partnerships with Japan.
Sojitz has supported Uzbekistan’s sustainable growth through the development of infrastructure projects in recent years, including the Syrdarya II thermal power plant, which will cover up to 10% of the country’s electricity demand. In addition, Sojitz is currently developing a new airport project in the capital, Tashkent, a large-scale wind power plant in Navoi, and a multidisciplinary hospital in Samarkand. This award recognizes Sojitz’s contributions to the development of economic partnerships and friendly relations with Uzbekistan. Over the years, Sojitz has developed diverse business initiatives in Uzbekistan while strengthening bilateral ties and engaging in dialogue with the Uzbek government. This marks the first time the Dustlik Order has been presented to a member of the Japanese private sector.
Comment from Masayoshi Fujimoto:
It is a tremendous honor to receive this Dustlik Order, and I would like to reaffirm my commitment to living up to this great honor. We at Sojitz recognize the significant responsibility and high expectations that come with this esteemed award. In the years ahead, Sojitz will continue to contribute to the sustainable development of the country as a long-term partner, uniting Japan and Uzbekistan by furthering friendly relations and economic cooperation between both countries.
