Second Notice on Unauthorized Server Access at Sojitz Subsidiaries Outside Japan

As per the last notice, Sojitz Corporation (“Sojitz”) was made aware on September 26, 2024, that the servers of Sojitz subsidiaries outside Japan were subject to unauthorized access by a third party.

After discovering the breach, Sojitz took immediate action by establishing a task force, which worked with external cybersecurity experts to assess the scope of impact and implement security measures to remove and restrict server access. Sojitz is continuing to further strengthen security protections for all servers belonging to Sojitz Group both in Japan and overseas. All Sojitz Group businesses are operating as normal.

We sincerely apologize to all stakeholders, including our customers and shareholders, for the concern this incident has caused, and Sojitz will continue to take appropriate measures to address this incident and safeguard information. Updates regarding this incident will be disclosed promptly.
