Sojitz and Plenary Group Signs Memorandum of Understanding for PPP Projects development and wide-ranging infrastructure & new energy Business fields

Sojitz Corporation (“Sojitz”) and Plenary Group (“Plenary”), a major Australian infrastructure development and investment company, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) to jointly investigate strategies and feasible studies to expand collaboration opportunities in PPP (*1) and infrastructure businesses in Australia, Asia and the Middle East, on December 8, 2022. 

Plenary is one of the Australian representative companies of PPP business, with AUD47Bil (JPY4.32Tril) (*2) asset in PPP projects of hospitals, railways, roads, schools, courts, and so on, in Australia, Canada, America, and other countries. 

Sojitz and Plenary have been partners since 2021, in a hospital PPP project with total project cost of AUD1.5Bil (JPY137Bil) (*2), which is the largest healthcare infrastructure investment project in Victoria state. The hospital is progressing smoothly towards opening planned in 2025.

Sojitz intends to help overcome social problems in the countries through PPP projects by utilizing know-how of PPP project accumulated in other countries, and jointly investigating opportunities with Plenary in business areas including infrastructure and new energy fields forms part of that intention.

By realizing infrastructure projects rapidly, Sojitz will be responsible for building infrastructures in Australia, Asia and Middle East, and contribute to improve convenience for local residents by expanding the collaboration opportunities with Plenary.
