Feb. 18, 2003

TOKYO(February 18, 2003)--Nissho Iwai Corporation and NI Commerce Development Corporation (Head office: Daiba, Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Shoji Sekiguchi) will open 'Mallage Saga', a large-scale shopping center, in March 21, 2003.

'Mallage Saga', which will open in Saga-City approximately 2.5 km southeast of JR Saga Station, is a convenient shopping center bordered by Saga Ring Road Higashi and Route 264. In this favorable location, 'Mallage Saga' sets the Saga Plain and along the Chikugo River as its 15 km radius trading area, assuming a trading area population of approximately 500,000.

The name 'Mallage' is coined from the words 'mall' and 'age', and has been so named in anticipation of malls entering the mainstream of future large-scale shopping centers. The logo design shows a stylized 'person' standing in the middle of the Mallage mall.

As the first shopping center to open in Saga Prefecture after the Large-scale Retail Store Location Law came into force, 'Mallage Saga' gives due consideration to environmental aspects such as reduction of noise/vibration, garbage recycling and alleviation of traffic congestion. In addition, parking space for approximately 3,000 cars is available, which is the largest for a shopping center in the Kyushu region.

As a commercial facility development business, Nissho Iwai undertakes outlet mall business such as suburban location type shopping centers like 'Mallage Saga', and 'Chelsea Premium Outlets®', the largest suburban factory outlet in Japan, and introduces a great number of domestic and foreign name brands. Nissho Iwai will continue to actively undertake new projects as a professional, general developer that enjoys overwhelming consumer support.
