Sojitz has been selected as the winner of the “Most Liked!” IR Award at the 2022 IR Awards organized by the Japan Investor Relations Association^(*1).

The “Most Liked!” IR Award was newly created in 2020 in honor of the 25^th anniversary of The IR Awards. The award reflects the viewpoints of companies that applied for the IR Award through a voting system for nomination, which encourages companies to share their respective IR activities and to strive toward realizing best practices.

In 2022, the theme of the 2022 IR Awards was IR activities that raise corporate value through collaboration with stakeholders. A total of 207 companies applied to the “Most Liked!” IR Award for the 2022 IR Awards, and 20 companies, including Sojitz, were selected as a result of having the highest votes.

Sojitz places on dialogue not only with external stakeholders, but also with internal stakeholders. Sojitz broadcasts live IR information sessions geared towards employees to provide updates on Sojitz’s progress with respect to the medium-term management plan and to shed light on how investors and analysts perceive the company. These informational events are organized by the corporate officers in charge of Corporate Planning and IR. Sojitz’s vision for 2030 is to become a company that “constantly cultivates new businesses and human capital.” Sojitz’s collective efforts were recognized by the other applicant companies who empathized with the company’s vision, which resulted in Sojitz’s selection. It was also awarded in 2020 when the “Most Liked!” IR Award was established.

On behalf of the company’s numerous stakeholders, Sojitz will continue to deepen understanding and trust in Sojitz Group by valuing opportunities to host stakeholder discussions and continuing to raise the company’s corporate value.
