Sojitz Auto Group Tokai Corporation (“SAGT”), a Group company of Sojitz Corporation engaged in auto sales geared towards foreign residents employed in Japan, has formed a business tie-up with shopping credit and credit card service company APLUS Co., Ltd. (“APLUS”) to issue “EcRcard” credit cards to foreign residents in Japan as of April 19^th, 2022.

Since 2019, SAGT has been engaged in car retail services (the “Easy car RIDE business”) targeted towards foreign workers in Japan. The Easy car RIDE business establishes an auto loan system utilizing IoT devices that creates new opportunities for foreign residents to purchase vehicles, including those who could not obtain car loans under previous loan systems. Additionally, SAGT employs a multinational staff so that foreign residents can receive support and car insurance and product warranty information in their native language to purchase and utilize cars without anxiety.

Through this business tie-up, SAGT will now not only offer foreign residents with the chance to purchase vehicles, but also provide new access to credit cards with the aim of improving the lives of foreign residents in Japan.
