Today, Sojitz Corporation (“Sojitz”) established the Sojitz Institute of Innovative Technologies, Ltd. (“SIIT”).

During FY2018, the first year of Medium-term Management Plan 2020, Sojitz established the Business Innovation Office to promote investment in innovation, later investing in a CVC and other ventures.

Through SIIT, the company now plans to take a long-term perspective in scientifically evaluating new technologies emerging around the world, thereby helping to advance the development of technologies in a more streamlined manner. Specifically, this means capturing outside talent and working together with specialist organizations to combine these new technologies with the company’s business foundation and business acumen. In this way, Sojitz will link these technologies to new business and help solve social issues, such as global warming and declining birthrate/aging society.
