From July 26, Sojitz Corporation, in cooperation with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), commenced verification test utilizing the Marine Asset Tracking Tag System (MATTS).  As the sole agent of iControl, Inc. (Head office: Santa Clara, California, U.S.A.), which develops MATTS under a United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) commission, Sojitz provides support for verification tests carried out in Japan.

The subject test is designed to verify, with the support of participating companies, real-time cargo tracking in the actual intermodal transport supply chain; from places of shipment in Japan to the final US destinations of shipments, and is considered an important consideration (a milestone) for practical application of the system.

Sojitz will develop a solution business, in which MATTS is not only applied from the standpoint of ensuring cargo safety, but in which MATTS is also applied to the areas of logistics visualization and mobile asset management.

Please refer to the material, provided by the MLIT, regarding the subject matter.
