Sojitz Asia Pte. Ltd. (Head Office: 1 Wallich Street #24-01/02 Guoco Tower, Singapore 078881; Representative Director: Ryutaro Hirai; “Sojitz Asia”) will open a new office on June 1^st in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Bangladesh, which has a strong bilateral relationship with Japan, has drafted its 7^th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) with the goal of raising living standards in the country to the middle-income country level. The Plan prioritizes measures for creating an environment to attract foreign investment, securing stable and diversified sources of power and energy, constructing transportation infrastructure, and raising labor productivity. Bangladesh is anticipated to become a major manufacturing and export center, with the promise of future growth in the domestic market fueled by a more prosperous populace.

Sojit Asia will apply the knowledge and experience it has gathered in the region to business operations at the new Dhaka office, which will focus on promoting projects in the energy and social infrastructure sectors while simultaneously contributing to the continued economic development of Bangladesh.
