On November 1^st, Sojitz Corporation (“Sojitz”) acquired full ownership of BMW Osaka Corporation, an authorized dealership of BMW and MINI brand automobiles, owned by BMW Group Japan (“BMW”). The company name was changed to the Sojitz Auto Group Osaka Co., Ltd (“Sojitz Auto Group Osaka”), but it took over all the employees, sales and service facilities.

BMW Osaka, which was established in July 2007 as a subsidiary of BMW, has built a strong customer base in the Osaka region as a dealership of BMW and MINI brand cars. The dealership’s branches in Osaka include three BMW new car showrooms, one MINI new car showroom, four certified pre-owned car showrooms, and three service centers.

Overseas, Sojitz manages authorized BMW and MINI brand dealerships in the San Francisco Bay Area in the United States, as well as in Santa Catarina State, Brazil. Sojitz now expects to increase its global sales of BMW and MINI brand cars to approximately 13,000 vehicles per year with the addition of Sojitz Auto Group Osaka.

The Osaka region has a high market share of premium brand vehicles, and the area is seen as a promising market for future growth. With this new acquisition, Sojitz strives to further expand sales as well as services provided for BMW and MINI brand cars.
