“IMPREST Okurayama” wins 2014 Good Design Award

We are pleased to announce that Sojitz New Urban Development Corporation (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Ryoji Karasuyama), has won the Good Design Award 2014 (presented by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion) for its condominium complex “IMPREST Okurayama.” Sojitz New Urban Development Corporation has been awarded the prize for the first time.
Situated on a hillside with a panoramic view on a comfortable living environment of 7,000 square meters, “IMPREST Okurayama” is designed for permanent residential use built on the old site of Toyoko-Gakuen Okurayama Senior High School (operated by Goto Ikueikai Educational Foundation), which provided educational services for 68 years.
Valuing an attachment to the historical background of the site as well as a harmony with the surrounding environment, the award-winning condominium complex has proudly succeeded in achieving a residential space with the theme of a great view, sunshine and breezes, featuring a stylish and elaborate design.
The following is a comment from a Good Design Award committee member:
“We highly valued the housing plan, which considered the surrounding environment and required minimal site preparation work on an excellent hillside spot. Furthermore, the community development initiatives undertaken by the condominium residents, as presented by the developer in the second screening, appear to be very active and have a strong appeal.”
In September 2012, the Sojitz New Urban Development Corporation was established as a business combination of real estate development and real estate sales operations of the Sojitz Group and inherited from its predecessors the “IMPREST” series, a condominium apartment brand.
