Sojitz General Merchandising Corporation, a Sojitz Group company that handles consumer goods and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sojitz Corporation, will begin selling new 5th Element suitcases manufactured by TITAN of Germany at luggage and general goods stores nationwide in late February 2011.

TITAN series products are suitcases made from polycarbonate, a lightweight material with outstanding shock resistance. Since their launch in Japan in 2005, TITAN products have been commended for their designs and durability, and sales in 2010 increased by 200% compared to the previous year.

The new 5th Element will be the highest grade TITAN series product. The 5th Element was awarded first place in the travel category at International Leather Goods Fair held in Germany in the autumn of 2010 and has received considerable praise for its outstanding design.

The 5th Element products are manufactured at its newly built TITAN plant in Germany and are innovative products that stand up to the expectations of the “made in Germany” designation. By using higher grade polycarbonate material, higher durability is achieved, but the large suitcase weighs 400 g (8%) less. The casters are equipped with suspensions to absorb shock from the ground, making it possible to withstand and roll smoothly even on Europe’s stone pavement and rough roads.
