Environmental Management System
Sojitz and other relevant Group companies have acquired ISO 14001 certification, the international standard for environmental management, and are using environmental management systems (EMS) based on this standard.
Sojitz has established an environmental management organization headed by the President & CEO. Basic environmental policies and initiatives are discussed and considered by the CSR Committee. Each department sets and operates according to goals that are compatible with its business activities for promotion of environmentally friendly businesses, energy-saving shipping and the environmental risk countermeasures of subcontractors. Sojitz also conducts internal environmental audits every year to ensure proper implementation and promote ongoing improvement of its EMS.
