Sojitz promotes energy conservation, resource efficiency, waste reduction, recycling and green procurement. Specific activities to conserve energy include early introduction of the "Cool Biz" program, a "Warm Biz" program, reducing air conditioner use outside regular working hours, removing some lights, turning off unnecessary lights during lunch break and at the end of the day, encouraging power saving with in-house announcements, participating in the Lights-Down campaign, shortening the amount of time before copiers and other office equipment switch to power-saving mode, and encouraging employees to use the stairs.
